Robotic Clean-Up to Debut at Magh Mela as Preparations Intensify in Prayagraj
Prayagraj accelerates preparations for the Magh Mela beginning January 3, 2026, with the municipal corporation deploying cleaning robots, a poclain, and JCB machines to strengthen sanitation and site management. Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Keserwani performs rituals ahead of the event’s inauguration.
In a notable upgrade, two new cleaning robots have been deployed to support round-the-clock sanitation efforts, marking a step toward more technology-driven maintenance during the weeks-long gathering. Additional heavy machinery—including a poclain excavator and two JCB units—has also been brought in to expedite ground-level preparations and enhance the overall condition of the Mela grounds before the influx of devotees.
Prayagraj Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Keserwani visited the site ahead of the inauguration, offering traditional prayers and expressing hope for a successful and well-organized Mela. The administration maintains that the expanded resources will help meet the high expectations for cleanliness and public services during one of the region’s largest religious events.
This year’s preparations highlight the growing emphasis on modern infrastructure and efficient civic management, as authorities work to balance tradition with contemporary logistical demands during the Magh Mela’s massive annual congregation.
